Update: Road Conditions Forest Park Sub-Division

Published May 06, 2009

Residents you will notice a great deal of activity in our community pertaining to the roads. Going forward from today, spring to the end of summer our roads will be completely redone to prevent any further road and easement damage. Please be patient with the county workers as well as be careful around the large grading equipment.

The following letter is word for word from the Elbert County Road and Bridge Department in response to my letter to the Commissioners.

Dear, Ms. Proffitt:

Elbert County Road & Bride is in receipt of your e-mail to Mr. Shipper concerning the roads within you sub-division.

The Department is in the process of changing its grading procedures and you should start to notice a difference in the roads as summer progresses. The blade operators are beginning to pull the material from the road ditches back onto the roadway surface.  This procedure will be performed over a period of time.  In addition, we will be reviewing different chemical applications to various roadways within the County for surface treatment and dust control.

Thank you,
